Cox Cleantech Accelerator Showcases Innovative Startups for Climate Solutions in Atlanta

The Cox Cleantech Accelerator, which launched on October 30, 2025, has become a platform for showcasing innovative startups focused on environmental solutions. This initiative, which features a 12-week program, highlighted 10 leading startups in environmental innovation. The accelerator connects these startups with investors and industry partners, aiming to foster growth and development in the cleantech sector.

Atlanta's Growing Role as a Cleantech Innovation Hub

Atlanta is rapidly emerging as a hub for cleantech innovation, supported by initiatives like the Cox Cleantech Accelerator. Over the past decade, Cox has supported more than 400 startups, contributing significantly to job creation in the city. The focus of these initiatives is on renewable energy and sustainable transportation, areas that are vital to addressing the challenges posed by climate change.

The Cox Cleantech Accelerator collaborates with gener8tor and the Georgia Cleantech Hub to support early-stage cleantech startups. This collaboration has already attracted two cohorts of startups from around the world, underscoring the global appeal and potential impact of the program.

Innovative Startups Driving Environmental Change

The 10 startups showcased in the recent cohort represent a diverse array of solutions aimed at tackling environmental challenges. Among them is NoMy, a company transforming food industry waste into mycoproteins. NoMy's focus on sustainable food production highlights the potential for innovation in reducing waste and promoting alternative protein sources.

Another featured startup, Agoprene, is developing sustainable foam made from seaweed. This foam is designed to not introduce new carbon into the environment, aligning with Agoprene's goal of promoting the adoption of sustainable materials. By leveraging the properties of seaweed, Agoprene aims to provide an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional foams.

Advancements in Sustainable Transportation

Brim Explorer, a startup operating hybrid electric boats, is also part of the cohort. With the Norwegian Parliament aiming to establish zero-emission zones by 2026, Brim Explorer plans to build the world's first all-electric trimarans. Their efforts represent a significant step towards reducing emissions in the maritime industry and promoting cleaner modes of transportation.

Leveraging Technology for Climate Insights

In addition to these innovations, the cohort includes Telescope, a company using artificial intelligence to provide climate risk insights. Described as the 'Google Maps for climate risk', Telescope screens for environmental and physical risks, offering valuable insights for businesses and policymakers. By harnessing the power of AI, Telescope aims to enhance understanding of climate risks and support informed decision-making.
