AWS Space Accelerator Announces Third Stage with 14 Startups Selected

Innovative Startups Join AWS Space Accelerator

The 14 startups selected for this stage of the AWS Space Accelerator are making significant strides in various aspects of space technology. Among them, Lunasonde is developing a space-based radar system that aims to enhance the detection of underground resources. Similarly, Raven Space Systems is working on 3D-printed re-entry capsules, which could revolutionize the way payloads return to Earth from space.

Rogue Space Systems is focusing on space robotics, providing autonomous in-space services that could transform satellite maintenance and repair. Another notable participant is Integrate, a Seattle-based startup founded last year. This company has a team of five full-time members and is currently running its management software in private beta, with over 30 organizations testing their platform.

Broad Range of Technologies and Applications

The selected startups cover a wide spectrum of technologies and applications, highlighting the diverse potential of space innovation. GRASP is developing satellite instruments aimed at Earth monitoring, while In Orbit Aerospace is building infrastructure for space manufacturing. Kawa Space offers space-powered signals intelligence, and Little Place Labs provides near-real-time space analytics.

Lunasonde's radar technology is designed to explore underground resources, and Nominal is creating validation software for complex systems. Space Kinetic is turning solar power into in-space mobility, and Violet Labs offers cloud software solutions for hardware engineering. Xona Space Systems is developing a commercial 'Super-GPS' service, enhancing navigation capabilities in space.

Key Dates and Support

The AWS Space Accelerator program is structured to offer significant support to these startups. A demo day is scheduled for July 19, 2023, where the startups will showcase their progress and innovations. The program provides mentorship from AWS experts and industry leaders, helping to guide these companies through the technical and commercial challenges they may face.

The selection of these startups was based on their potential impact and technical abilities. The program offers six months of technical support, ensuring that these companies have the resources and guidance necessary to advance their technologies.

Additional Initiatives by AWS

AWS is also involved in other accelerator programs, such as the sustainable aviation accelerator launched in collaboration with Boeing. Additionally, three Indian startups have been selected for the Generative AI Accelerator 2025, which is part of AWS's broader efforts to foster innovation in artificial intelligence. This cohort launches on October 13, 2025, and concludes in December 2025, with a total of 40 AI startups participating, including ten from the Asia-Pacific and Japan region.

The focus of these initiatives is on foundational AI models and agentic AI, with a view to promoting technological advancement across different sectors.
